This fall, I launched the first two Fly Fishing Foundations courses and I’m thrilled to share that all participants walked away more confident, excited, and ready to take the next step in their fly fishing journey. To make sure I delivered the best learning environment possible, I intentionally kept class sizes small for this inaugural run. The result? A highly personal, hands-on experience that participants loved.

• 100% found the information very applicable to their fly fishing goals
• 75% said they now feel more confident trying fly fishing on their own
• 100% rated clarity of instruction as Excellent
• 100% said the class pace was just right

What We Learned & What’s Next

Feedback from this first group has already been invaluable. Students told us they want:

• More on-the-water time
• Additional rigging and knot-tying practice
• Guided fishing opportunities
• Small-group and private lessons.

To meet this demand and keep delivering high-quality, supportive learning experiences, I am exploring partnering with a trusted, reputable local guide service to expand offerings next year. That means more on-the-water learning opportunities, multi-day immersive experiences, more in-depth workshops, and small-group and private coaching. This survey is already helping refine and elevate the course and there’s so much more to come!
